"Land Transport Design", a masterclass of industrial design, will take place this year, on August 29,
from 14.00 to 17.00 in the "Vinzavod" Centre of Contemporary Art. Stanislav Naumov, Secretary of
State, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, will make an opening speech at the masterclass.
The event is organized by the Expert Club of Industry and Energy with the assistance of the
Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia. The masterclass is a part of the program of the DesignACT
International Forum of Industrial Design. Technical support of the masterclass is provided by the
SmartBalls design publishing house.
Chief task of the masterclass is to exchange experience and organize business contacts of
representatives of industrial design manufacturers and studios. Financial and investment aspects of
industrial design, personnel training issues and examples of successful practices will be the three
main subjects of discussion. Georgy Afanasiev, Head of the Expert Club of Industry and Energy,
Ekaterina Khramkova, Director-General of Lumiknows, Maria Stashenko, Founder and
Managing Partner of ORGANICA design consultancy, Michael Robinson, Coordinator of the
Transport Design Master Course in the European Design Institute (the Istituto Europeo di Design,
Turin), as well as AstraRossa, i-Design, Slava’saakyan, Cardi, Russian Automobile Design design
studios will present reports.
Exposition of graduation and term projects and models made by students of the Istituto Europeo di
Design (Turin) and students of the "Design" Faculty of the Moscow Automobile Machine-Building
Institute, the first educational institution to train design engineers, will take place within the
framework of the masterclass.
We invite Heads of Marketing Departments, Brand Managers, Chief Designers of civil machine-building
manufacturing companies and representatives of the design industry to the masterclass.
